This heirloom Kale was originally brought to the West by Russian traders. These pretty wavy-leaved plants will mature to full-sized plants but we think they are best planted densely in rows and harvested like lettuce. Planting: Kale tolerates frost and its flavor and color actually improve with the arrival of cold weather. Plant outdoors in early fall for a winter crop. Enjoy fresh in salads or cooked like other leafy greens. Harvest: Young leaves may be harvested when about 4" tall.
